New Subclasses Possibly Hinted By Destiny 2 Merchandise

New Subclasses Possibly Hinted By Destiny 2 Merchandise

With just less than a week before the official gameplay reveal for "Destiny 2" becomes available, fans have shared several speculations that involve the upcoming sequel. One of the most popular rumors apparently surrounds the concept of new subclasses.

Gamestop has recently revealed some game tie-in merchandise that might hold some clues about the new game. According to reports, the products that caught fan's attention are three hats that bear the symbols for the Hunter, Titan, and Warlock classes.

Each of these "Destiny 2" hats features the icon the represents each of the three original classes in the game. Each of the items also comes with an animal symbol, the Hunter hat showcases a snake, the Warlock cap flaunts an eagle, and the Titan headwear sports a lion, says Game Rant. Some sources have noted that these animals are related to the chimera in myths, while other speculations claim that it has something to do with the new subclasses.

Some theories have pointed out that Bungie might have done away with the original subclasses in "Destiny 2". Instead, the game takes a new approach and removes the element based subclasses and replaces them with new animal based skills. It would mean that each class would have different animal spirits that supplement their specialties.

However, there are also other opinions that present these animal symbols as new factions. Since the Last City has been invaded and the Tower has been destroyed, the original vendors might no longer be available.

On the other hand, it is also possible that these new animal symbols have nothing to do with the new subclasses in "Destiny 2". Bungie has been known to use medieval livery on their armor designs in "Destiny". Therefore, the creatures were selected since they are related to the specialties of each class. However, most fans strongly believe that the developer will offer something new the sci-fi shooter's sequel.

Meanwhile, other than the new subclasses in "Destiny 2," most fans have also expressed their concerns about the timed exclusives for the Sony platform. The game is scheduled to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but just like the original game, the PS4 version will have access to exclusive content that won't hit the PC and Xbox One until fall of 2018, as reported by Gamenguide.
