Epic Games Store Freebie: Get The Outer Worlds Now! Ghostrunner Comes Next Week

The Epic Games Store is constantly bringing a new game for free in its weekly giveaway and this time is no exception as players can get The Outer Worlds for the absolutely amazing price of $0 and Ghostrunner will be coming next week.

Ghostrunner was initially launched in October 2020 and put players in the shoes of the protagonist, Jack, as they try to scale the dystopian Dharma Tower. This is considered to be humanity's last shelter after a cataclysmic event. Players are on a quest to topple the tyrannical Keymaster and take their revenge.

The game then follows up with some brutally difficult first-person parkour action as it forces players to leap and bound their way across neon-colored levels. They need to eliminate enemies along the way while breathlessly swinging their katana.

The game is more about acrobatic routines and devising and performing them than outright fighting against enemies. Players are given control of an agile character who can wall-run, slide around effortlessly, swing around, dash around, and even has powers to slow down time, according to Eurogamer.

Despite all of these strengths, Jack is a fragile character who will die in one blow from almost anything in the game. The main challenge for players getting into Ghostrunner will be a sort of elegance, which is where they will have to avoid getting hit while also getting close enough to enemies to slice them apart.

On the other hand, the currently available free game on the Epic Games Store, The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, is an extrasolar tale of capitalism run amok. The game is set on a frontier that is filled with towns, classism, and corrupt companies that would sell out anyone to make a profit.

This particular title is the definitive edition of the base game that was released in 2019 and features a lot of graphical improvements as well as the post-launch DLC Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos.

The improvements that were made to the textures and shaders were relatively mild but are considered to have paid big dividends for a title of this scale. The characters were rendered with much greater detail and alien environments became more vivid, said Polygon.

The Outer Worlds gives players an authentic RPG that features a host of character customization options that offer them multiple solutions to the same problem. It also offers morally ambiguous choices that will actually have an influence on the story throughout its progress.

Additionally, the game benefits from amazing writing, and players' companions will feel legitimately similar to other series, such as the Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect franchises. Despite the new additions that The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition made, the upgrades to the base game were buggy at launch.

The game's main story will be familiar to players who have immersed themselves in narrative-driven RPGs. The choices that it offers players make it heavily obvious which is the right one but still manages to attract them to the other side, according to RPG Fan.
