Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is a Farming Simulator That is Hopping Onto the Nintendo Switch

A new farming simulator, Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge, that focuses on little croakers is hopping onto the Nintendo Switch later this year.

The game's developer, Humble Reeds, is bringing a frog-centered farming simulator that will allow players to raise an army of frogs. Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge was originally supposed to only come to PC but it was announced to be coming to Nintendo's handheld console at the same time.

Building a Frog Sanctuary

Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge boasts beautiful watercolor graphics as well as an adorable little premise, making it irresistible for fans of farming simulator games or people who love frogs in general.

A player's journey to becoming an amphibian adept will start out in Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge similar to any other farming sim, which is by needing a break. The game will help players out by welcoming NPCs as they photograph and breed frogs to increase their reputation, decorate their refuge, and plant native crops. The frogs that players collect can be bred and the game features more than 1,000 different croakers.

Collecting All Frogs

It is up to the player to figure out the secret of how to attract new and adorable frogs to their sanctuary. They can complete their collection by unlocking all of the rare colors of frogs through a special breeding minigame. When new creatures come to the refuge, the in-game camera can be used to take photos and add them to the Frogdex, said Gematsu.

When it comes to restoring the wetland, which is another crucial goal of the game, players can cultivate the area through a process that is known as paludiculture. They can dig ponds to let water roam the land once more and they can transform their harvests into manufactured goods that can then be sold in order to improve their sanctuary even more.
