Kingdom Come: Deliverance Sequel Could Be Announced Next Week!

Warhorse Studios, the developer of the highly popular RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is set to announce its new game next week which many fans are anticipating will be a much-requested sequel.

The company took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce on Thursday that it would be revealing a new game on Apr. 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET.

Fans of Kingdom Come: Deliverance immediately speculated that this could be a sequel to the game that earned a loyal following because of its grounded Skyrim-like design.

One fan also asked if they are finally going to see the continuation of Henry's story, referring to the protagonist of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The original game was released in 2018 and has since consistently topped the list of best RPGs among players.

Shortly after the title's release, Plaion, the company that was previously known as Koch Media, acquired Warhorse Studios. Plaion is part of the Embracer Group, which recently underwent mass layoffs and cancellations amid restructuring efforts, according to IGN.

A sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance would most likely be well-received by fans of the franchise. Despite the original game's difficulty and buggy launch state, it was considered to be an ambitious RPG title.

Warhorse Studios previously claimed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance sold 6 million copies, which is highly impressive for a then-indie studio's debut.

The company's unforgiving approach to Central Europe medieval survival amid RPGs such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Dragon's Dogma 2 on the rise will probably go down well.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a gorgeous game and its evocation of the landscapes of 15th century Bohemia made some fans gasp in awe. Player choices also had severe consequences on the fate of the game's protagonist. It was also able to implement its survival systems well despite being a little stern.

An Interesting Story

The game took an unusually authentic approach to swordplay and it also got a Nintendo Switch port earlier this month, which was surprising for many fans.

Some players who played the game said that it was one of the most satisfying, rewarding role-playing experiences they have enjoyed on PC in quite a while, said PCGamer.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance's release on the Nintendo Switch was mired by the handheld console's lack of power. This was seen during the early stages of the game through jagged edges and blurry textures.

However, it does get better as the player progresses through and watches the cinematic cutscenes. The character models in the port look decent enough and the relatively low graphics are not quite as noticeable.

Important to note as well is that the game also had a passable frame rate on the Nintendo Switch although things do get a little choppy during fights and when players are running or traveling on a horse sometimes.

While the game has an interesting story, the gameplay was not as polished as its strong narrative for some players.

The beginning of the game has players controlling Henry without any weapons, forcing them to punch their way out of scuffles. This is only one of many complaints that others have had playing the highly popular title, according to Future Five.
