Dragon Age Inquisition Release Date Announced Alongside Beautiful New Gameplay Trailer [VIDEO]

Dragon Age Inquisition Release Date Announced, Awesome Gameplay Trailer Released

The Dragone Age Inquisition news just keeps coming, and I certainly don't want it to stop. The upcoming RPG has been given a release date, October 7, and an awesome new gameplay trailer has been posted alongside the announcement.

Prior to today, we only knew Bioware's next entry in the franchise was coming some time in "Fall 2014", so it's nice to have a specific date for Inquisition. Yesterday EA released the official box art for the title, so the announcements are coming thick and fast right now. It makes sense those two would be released near one another: publications (and, more importantly to EA, retailers) can now list the game with the official art and date.

The accompanying trailer shows off a good amount of gameplay, and things look fantastic. The story finally gets some fleshing out, and we learn the player character is the only survivor of some horrific event that killed thousands. There are mentions of the Fade, present on the box art and as a gameplay element in the game itself, and then a montage of action and narration ensues.

The graphics really look fantastic, truly a huge improvement over its predecessors. This isn't too surprising given we're likely seeing footage of the PC or Xbox One and PS4 versions, which the previous games did not have the advantage of. Still, it's great to see the Dragon Age world looking so good, and the combat looks much more fluid and dynamic from what I can tell.

Dragon Age 2 was disappointing, and by the looks of the trailer below, Bioware is determined not to let that happen again--I hope I'm not let down.
