'Dota 2' DLC: Replace The Announcers With The Witty Narrator From 'The Stanley Parable' [VIDEO]

You Can Replace The 'Dota 2' Announcers With The Witty Narrator From 'The Stanley Parable'

Dota 2 may not need any additional marketing hype via tie-ins from other properties, but that hasn't stopped Valve from making some available for fun. You can now replace the MOBA's narrators with the witty voice of The Stanley Parable for  increased entertainment value.

Prize Pool For Dota 2 Tournament 'The International' Reaches Over $4 Million

The narrator pack is available on Dota 2's official website, and will normally cost you $9.99. However, a special promotion for its first 48 hours can actually get you a 10 percent discount though, saving a dollar on the price. The description of the item reads as follows:

"This pack replaces the Default announcer and Mega-Kills announcer with the sardonically meta wit of the Narrator from The Stanley Parable."

To further celebrate the collaboration (and where you'll probably get the best deal in all of this), The Stanley Parable is currently discounted on Steam. The indie title is half off through the entire weekend, so it's a good opportunity to grab the highly-praised game for cheap ($7.50).

I will say that the price for the narrator voice pack for Dota 2 seems a bit high. $10, or the discounted $9, doesn't sound like the greatest value for what is basically a cosmetic change, but I'm sure fans of both titles will be tempted.

The amusing narrator is a large part of what makes The Stanley Parable stand out, and hearing his dry and dead-pan tone speak about Dota 2 in-game might be worth it for some. You can hear samples of his Dota 2 dialogue for yourself in the video below.
