LucasArts Classics Released On GOG.com: TIE Fighter, X-Wing, Sam & Max Hit The Road Now Available

Hopefully you've been enjoying the Halloween update so far, which has you collecting various Ghostbusters items (like the fire house and lockers) and fighting off the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. It's not all fun and games in Quahog, however, as various monsters like ghosts, terror dogs and banshees are plaguing the town.

These new unlockable characters will let you take care of them more easily, but they come at a price.

Saw Returns To Theaters Halloween For Limited 10th Anniversary Re-Release

Each one costs 200 Golden Clams, which is a pretty steep price tag, considering that 275 clams will run you $10 in the store.

They are extraordinarily useful, however, and who wouldn't want to have these characters wandering around your game? After they're unlocked they provide new quests and actions, and will be playable forever.

But that is certainly a hefty price. One trick to getting them on the cheap is to make sure to first unlock all the new Ghosbusters and Halloween costumes for your characters. When you get a full set of costumes you'll gain a number of clams that will help you along your way, sometimes dozens at a time.

Also make sure to check your friends' Quahogs daily, as you'll earn at least one clam a day.

You can make it easier on yourself to get those costumes with this tactic. As with the Comic-Con update, which saw you trying to bomb a giant alien Stewie, you're faced with defeating the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man over and over. Every time you shoot him you net a huge amount of Spirit Vials (which are used to unlock costumes and new characters), so you should start stockpiling rockets as soon as possible. If you can defeat him again within a 24-hour period you'll earn a multiplier, and so on and so on, so make sure to have a good stockpile before you begin. Many characters have actions that take two hours and give you one rocket, so always have your characters working away at those.

Good luck getting everything, and don't forget that if you unlock each week's special Ghostbusters item you'll net the Ecto-1 when the event is finished!
