The Hunger Games Stage Show Will Come To London In 2016 Offering Grand Innovation And Immersion; Panem Comes To Life At Wembley

In London? Experience The Hunger Games Up On The Stage In 2016!

The third film of the Hunger Games saga is out in a few weeks. The fourth and final installment will come to us in 2015. But what happens then? An empire has been made out of three decent YA novels. Harry Potter at least had seven to work with.

Lionsgate, the film's distributor, is undeterred. The closing of one door to the franchise merely opens up another. The company has teamed with "Dutch media company Imagine Nation and U.S. based Triangular Entertainment to bring The Hunger Games to the stage using innovative and immersive staging techniques." When you are finished with the big screen, the only thing left is to bring it to the stage.

The show will be setting up shop besides iconic Wembley Stadium in London in 2016.

The company has been at work on this project since May of this year. Currently, the studio has The Hunger Games: The Exhibition premiering in 2015 to promotethe fourth and final entry. The traveling show brings the world of Panem to museums all over. I wrote a small piece about the hilarity of making an interactive Hunger Games exhibit, and I stand by my original thought.

The Hunger Games theatrical experiencewill be produced by award-winning Broadway producer Robin de Levita, co-founder of Imagine Nation, along with legendary UK promoter Harvey Goldsmith, Triangular Entertainment's Warren Adams and Brandon Victor Dixon of WalkRunFly Productions and entertainment executives Robert Harris and R&R Media's Gary Ricci.

"I'm thrilled to be partnering with an innovative next generation studio like Lionsgate on a property that resonates so deeply with global audiences," said DeLevita. "The theater is a fantastic medium to bring the many meaningful layers of Suzanne Collins' writing to life."

I am in agreement, the world itself is rich but like certain places, I don't know if I exactly want to go there. I am a lazy westerner, I fully embrace that. I enjoy The Hunger Games; I do not need to 'experience' The Hunger Games. I doubt I would last five seconds after the bell. Still, a stage show is very curious given Imagine Nation's track record (a 360 degree rotating stage used to tell the Diary of Anne Frank), much like watching children attack one another, I have a morbid fascination with what may come about.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I hits theaters on November 21.
