Need More Star Trek? Why Not Join The Star Trek: Alien Domain Beta? New Free Web Browser Strategy Title Needs You

The rebooted Star Trek film series is prepping its third installment, but that doesn't mean there can't be any more of Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future coming to you.

If you're burned out on Star Trek Online, developer GameSamba has today announced that the closed beta of their upcoming free-to-play strategy web game Star Trek: Alien Domain will begin on Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m. Pacific (that's 9 p.m. for us Easterners).

In the title, players assume the role of either a Starfleet or Klingon captain as they attempt to navigate out of the "mysterious extradimensional realm of Fluidic Space." The realm is starless, planetless plane of existence that contains only a strange organic 'fluid' and the vicious race, Species 8472. The crew of the Voyager originally stumbled across it while traveling in the Delta Quadrant.

Alien Domain is set after the events of Star Trek: Voyager. Command a fleet of starships with "multiple modes of PvP for players to engage in, such as raiding player-controlled outposts for resources, and large-scale squad vs squad battles."

Players wishing to join in the beta can head on over to the main site and take a short quiz testing them on their general Star Trek knowledge. There is nothing even the most casual of Star Trek fans cannot answer. They aren't asking the number of Tribbles Spock predicted would be present in the iconic TOS episode.

Google search: 1,771,561. That's a lot of Tribbles.
