WWE Immortals Release Date Announced: Mobile Title That Reimagines Wrestling Stars As Superheroes Available Next Week

Your Favorite Wrestling Stars Are Reimagined As Superheroes In WWE Immortals, New Mobile Game Out Next Week

Back in December, WWE announced that it had partnered up with NetherRealm Studios - the guys behind Injustice: Gods Among Us - to create a new F2P mobile battler titled WWE Immortals. Today, they have released the first promotional images and they are, to put it frankly, glorious.

Assassin's Creed Movie Finally Gets A Release Date

I mean, if actual wrestling looked more like this - like Greco-Roman gladiatorial matches mashed up with superheroes - I do not think I would watch anything else. Why would we want to?

Additionally, during yesterday’s Raw matchup, WWE announced that the game will be hitting iOS and Android next week on January 15.

Five Nights At Freddy's 3: Aaaaw Yeah

Look at these amazing images. I mean, I know superheroes and wrestling are essentially the modern day equivalent of our ancient gods and goddesses, but to see them brazenly take up that mantle is just a wonderful thing. Look at John Cena, for instance. You don’t think that that man wakes up everyday, looks in the mirror and thinks, ‘God damn, I AM Superman.’ And then goes out and fulfills another kid’s Make-A-Wish, like actual Superman would.

Now, his Wish has finally come true.

Sheamus meanwhile looks like some angry Viking demon, complete with shield and braided beard. And, since wrestling and superheroes are both very male-dominated, the Bella twins are wearing costumes that sure are titillating, but in no way battlefield ready.

NetherRealm is joining forces with Phosphor Games, who created the MOBA Warriors Of A Red Planet, Man Of Steel (based on the movie, so they have experience with overpowered superdudes) and several other titles.

Keep an eye on the App Store and Google Play next week.
