Ermac Revealed For Mortal Kombat X: Telekinetic Slayer Joins Character Roster As 15th Member [VIDEO]

Ermac Joins The Roster In Mortal Kombat X [FIRST VIDEO]

Ermac, everyone's favorite telekinetic "error macro" EWr, was revealed as the next playable character in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.

Happy Xursday! Where Is Destiny's Salesman This Week?

The character was shown off during yesterday's KombatKast courtesy of NetherRealm's Tyler Lansdown, Paulo Garcia and Derek Kirtzic who were extremely enthusiastic to unveil the player favorite.

Admittedly, what character in Mortal Kombat isn't a player favorite?

Ermac will once again sport his hover and teleport ability. He is not an offensively minded character, and works well from a distance, to confuse, run in, hit, and then retreat to avoid any damage. Like the other members in the roster, Ermac comes with three separate variations that change not only the costume, but his move-set as well. With Master of Souls, Ermac has three glowing spheres of green energy, which when unleashed can stun the opponent, opening him or her up for a combination attack. So as to not be completely overpowered, "the only time you can do that is if you have the three souls around you."

Ermac's "wow-wow" ability, which disappears him completely for a short period of time, got much play. #wowout

The Mystic variation increases Ermac's telekinetic powers, offering up longer psychic push times and opponent lifts. These are good for punishing opponents who miss their moves.

Finally, Ermac's Spectral variation gives the character's levitation a boost, and allows him to hover and fly around the stage for a limited period of time. What he loses in height for his hover, he more than makes up for in mobility and time. It makes for a "very mobile Ermac", but also a vulnerable one - he can't block while flying around, leaving him open to retaliation.

The trio also showed off one of Ermac's fatalities, in which he psychically rips Sub Zero's head from his body. It's really quite awesome. One wonders what he's going to do with that head, now that he has it. And then you get your answer: he shoves it back into Sub Zero's body and rips it out through his torso.

Ermac is the 15th roster member introduced. Reptile was unveiled earlier in the week.

Mortal Kombat X releases on April 14 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. Expect an Ermac-centric trailer and screenshots to debut soon!
