Players Wanted For New Weekly Heroes Of The Storm Tournament!

Wanted: heroes. Where: the Storm. What: weekly tournament.

PvP Crowd Control Gets A Small But Necessary Update In World Of Warcraft

Beginning this Saturday, players who are part of Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm beta test can compete for not only glory and in-game gold, but cold hard cash as part of the new weekly Freaks 4U Gaming 'Heroes of the Storm ZOTAC Cup'.

Blizzard's new MOBA title, which is one of the most accessible games in the genre to date, has already amassed quite a following. The ZOTAC Cup will be among the first tournaments for the game itself, and five man teams from around the world are invited to participate each week for a prize of 250 Euros, with a monthly final round that can net teams 600 Euros.

Battlefield 4 Gets A Big Winter Update

That's about 275 Imperial dollars for all of us here in the States, and 662 for the final pot. North Americans, if you can wiggle your way onto the European server (and deal with the time difference), this one's for you.

Up to 256 teams can participate, so grab four of your friends and get training. You can even sign up just before the weekly one day tournament begins. Currently, the first cup has plenty of room left over, so your chances of winning are even greater.

On the last Saturday of the month the Monthly Final is held with the best eight teams from the ZOTAC Cup of the respective month. Teams need to gather ranking points in order to qualify for the Monthly Final. Winning a week gets you five points, while advancing to various other rounds can net you a few points apiece.

Sign up at the official site. If you haven't gotten in on the Heroes of the Storm beta, you can get in line over at battle.net to try your hand. It's an absolutely wonderful addition to the MOBA genre.
