'Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff' Updated With 'Star Trek' Event: Adds Entire Next Generation Cast & Kirk: Our Hands On Preview [SCREENS, TRAILER]

'Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff' Updated With 'Star Trek' Event With Entire Next Generation Cast

Today Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff is getting updated on iOS and Android with an absolutely massive Star Trek event. Peter Griffin and the rest of the good people of Quahog will beam up to the USS Starship Enterprise to meet the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and then save humanity.

The game has been host to plenty of massive updates in the past, like the Comic Con event that saw the game flooded with geek celebs, and a Halloween one that introduced the Ghostbusters and famous movie monsters, but this is by far the biggest thing we've seen. It's got a brand new locations- the Starship Enterprise herself- a ton of new characters, buildings and outfits to unlock.

We got the chance to play with an early build of the game and loved what we saw.

Update your game with the event and a shuttle crashes into the North portion of Quahog, the usual spot for strange events. Crawling out of it, broken and battered, is Commander William Riker, and he's your first character to unlock.

As per usual, each new character will require new items to unlock him, these specific to the Star Trek event.

Worse than an invasion of Riker (have you seen what he'll do to your chairs?), the shuttle seems to have been full of tribbles, and the town soon has trouble with them. Tapping on them will eliminate them and earn you some Star Trek-specific materials, but it will also spawn more tribbles. Expect to tap a lot to finally be rid of this furry menace.

Unlock Riker and a Starfleet costume for Peter and you're off to the stars.

The cast of TNG isn't doing too well, though, as they're almost all trapped by debris. You'll find Captain Picard, Commander Data, Lt. Worf, Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge, and even Captain James Tiberius Kirk – all voiced by the original actors! - on board. All the portions of the ship are represented too, even the Holodeck, where Data sits with his robot brains hanging out until you can unlock him.

Once it's fixed and everyone's saved, you'll find out that the crew came back to 2015 to protect baby Stewie, who creates technology in the future that will help destroy the Borg. There's a baby Borg called Bertram that's been sent back to get him now, though, so by repairing the Enterprise and saving the crew you'll also save mankind as well. Neat!

Besides new buildings which can be beamed down to Earth you'll find new mini-games, such as one that lets you use phasers to destroy asteroids and collect rewards.

There are plenty of things to spend your real money on too, and a few of the characters are premium, such as Worf. Captain Kirk will make an appearance later on during the vent as well.

We'll have a full guide to this event soon but just know that this is easily the biggest one yet for Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff for the game, one that will make Star Trek fans beyond pleased. Here's the trailer to celebrate its release!
