'Etrian Mystery Dungeon' DLC Quests Free For The Month Of April; New Wanderer Class Revealed

When Etrian Mystery Dungeon launches on 3DS on April 7, players who purchase the game will be able to acquire the first of the game's DLC for free for a one month period.

The promotion runs until May 5, at which point the five available DLC adventures will revert back to paid downloads. If you miss the mark, don't worry too much; none of the additional content costs more than $1.99.

The first three add-on packs will have you searching for a lost traveler in some of the game's many, many procedurally generated dungeons. Once you do, the traveler will give you recipes that unlock meals prepared by the NPC Niralda in the Amber Cafe. The meals can give various party members buffs that will last until you leave the dungeon.

The quests are as follows:

Find a Wanderer for me! Find the master chef Wanderer to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)

Find a Princess for me! Find the stray Sovereign to unlock a meal fit for a king in the Amber Restaurant! ($1.99)

Find a Landsknecht for me! Find the adventurous Landsknecht to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)

The other two DLC packs are repeatable quests that players can get from Niralda as well.

Know the Red Pookas? Slay a Red Pooka wandering around the dungeon to receive a Golden or White potion for extra experience! ($1.99)

Slay the Gold Guardian! Defeat an elusive Gold Guardian in the dungeon to receive a Nugget of Gold fragment for extra gold! ($1.49)

Atlus also revealed a new class: the Wanderer. For players who never know what's coming around the corner and as such, need to be prepared for anything, the Wanderer is the quintessential survivalist and can find paths through dungeons - and out of harm's way - like none other. Plus, they like carrying around ferrets that they may believe will converse with other members of the party.

The school of hard knocks does not teach social skills, after all.
