Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Roller Coaster: Promotion Transforms Six Flags Magic Mountain's Goliath Into Game-Themed Thrill

Six Flags Is Transforming Its Goliath Coaster At Magic Mountain Into A 'Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate' Themed Ride

One of the more strange tie-ins you're likely to hear about has been announced, with Six Flags Entertainment and Capcom partnering to bring you a Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate themed rollercoaster.

Mortal Kombat X Will Have Head-Exploding 'Quitalities' To Humiliate Rage Quitters

Before you get too excited, no, they're not building a brand new coaster form scratch based on Monster Hunter, but they are rebranding an existing one for a limited time. The Goliath coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain (the Six Flags park located north of Los Angeles, California) will be re-themed into a Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ride from March 28 to August 10.

One dedicated passenger train of the Goliath coaster will be custom-skinned to resemble the game's flagship Gore Magala monster. The Goliath itself, as the name implies, is a massive coaster: it features a huge 255 foot drop that puts passengers at a speed of 85 miles per hour. The coaster then sends you on a series of banked turns, hills, and "zero gravity drops". You can watch a ride-along video of the Goliath in motion below.

Batman Arkham Knight Release Date Delayed Again

Demo kiosks boasting playable Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on 3DS will be waiting in the Cyber Café after the ride, and the park will be selling merchandise themed to the game during the promotion. There's also a Monster Hunter Caravan Tour that travels the nation, and it will be stopped at Six Flags Magic Mountain for special event days on March 28 and 29. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is available now at retail and digitally for 3DS.
