Apple iOS 10 To Carry HomeKit App?: Outstanding Control App Features Of A Smart Home Revealed In WWDC

Apple is bound to have a busy year of unveiling new products and services. The new Apple iOS 10 is rumored to come with the HomeKit app that aims to centralize all smart home controls from all third-party applications or Siri. An alleged Apple employee left a rather telling review on Amazon that eventually stirred the news.

"As I work in marketing for Apple, we test many Smart Home devices, especially for iOS HomeKit integration...The next version of iOS due this fall will have a standalone "HomeKit" app as well," an Apple employee wrote in an interview with Amazon.

The Apple employee's review paved the way to reveal the existence of the HomeKit app. In the review, it was clearly stated that the HomeKit was tested through many smart home technology. Instead of using applications such as Yonomi and Home separately, iOS 10 will cater to the needs by carrying Apple's very own HomeKit that will join all the controls together.

Engadget rationalized the need for a centralized app like HomeKit. Using separate applications to manage controls can be quite chaotic, confusing and less efficient for the user. Should the tech giant pursue, Apple is indeed taking big steps to ensure maximum efficiency and less time consumption in the performance of controls. However, there is still no confirmation from Apple even with the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Based on the 9to5Mac report, Apple's HomeKit is at the advantage to create a better implementation plan for a centralized smart home controls application. Banking on its history for innovation, Apple can benchmark with new and improved features were no other consolidating application developers can go.

All eyes are on Apple with or without the HomeKit. Apple's iOS 10 and the anticipated gadgets line-up to be launched is set to be revealed at the WWDC this June.
