Battlefield 3 Armored Kill Release Date Revealed

Battlefield 3 is about to get some new content as video game studio DICE announced that the next download, Armored Kill, would release in September.

According to a official schedule posted on game's website the new Battlefield 3 DLC will release as follows, PlayStation 3 players who subscribed to the game's Premium package will get it first on Sept. 4, followed by launch for PC and Xbox 360 Premium members on Sept. 11.

Non-premium subscribing owner will be able to get the DLC as follows, PlayStation 3 owners will have access to the download Sept. 18, followed by PC and Xbox 360 Sept. 25.

This plethora of release dates is due in part to the arrangement of an exclusive deal between publisher EA and Sony, in which PS3 owners get early access to all Battlefield 3 downloads. And in part to the creation of premium based subscriptions that have become prevalent in the gaming industry.

Armored Kill returns to the roots of Battlefield, focusing vehicular warfare, with new drivable tanks, ATVs and mobile artillery. The new DLC will feature huge maps including the largest in franchise history and a new game mode, Tank Superiority, that lets players fight over key positions in tank-only warfare.

Developer Dice has also announced that they are increasing the volume of its official servers on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, where users have been requesting the increase for sometime now.

This is the third expansion launched for is the first-person shooter since its debut last October. At least two more DLC packs are expected for the game, Aftermath and Endgame.

Aftermath was revealed in a trailer for Battlefield 3 Premium and is set to arrive sometime in December. The Endgame DLC will be released next winter and is said to have something to do with a jungle setting and feature motorcycles.
