'Overwatch' Hero Mastery: How To Play Each Character Effectively Part 2

'Overwatch' Hero Mastery: How To Play Each Character Effectively Part 2

We're back with part 2 of our four-part guide to each "Overwatch" hero! Take each tidbit of advice to heart so you can maximize the use of every character.

Junkrat

• Constantly lob grenades from behind obstacles. They'll deal excellent damage and the enemy has no way of counterattacking.

• Your Concussion Mine can help you reach higher places, or unleash your grenades from the air.

• Place traps along flanking paths. This will notify you of heroes like Tracer attempting to ambush you.

• Your Rip-Tire can be destroyed with focus fire, so pass it through flanking routes or unexpected areas to catch the enemy by surprise. You can also have it climb walls by holding down the Jump key.

Lucio

• Speed boost can sometimes be more important than healing. It will allow you and your allies to dodge attacks and incoming Ultimates.

• Always stay on top of your Amp It Up skill, which can help your team out of a bad situation.

• Your alternate fire is dangerous near cliffs and bottomless pits. Proper use can devastate the enemy team.

• Your Ultimate charges a little slowly, and needs your team to be present to make the most out of it, so use it for pushes, or to survive another Ultimate.

McCree

• The Flashbang + Fan the Hammer + Combat Roll + Fan the Hammer combo can kill any non-tank Hero at close range. However this leaves you with all abilities on cooldown.

• Combine your Ultimate with Zarya, Mei, or Reinhardt's Ultimates for maximum effect, allowing you to wipe the enemy team.

Mei

• With your Endothermic Blaster and the element of surprise, you can win almost any duel. Freeze your target, then headshot them with an icicle.

• Use Ice Walls not just to block routes, but also to cancel Pharah Ultimates, prevent targets from escaping, and more.

• Place your Ultimate strategically along paths to deny enemies the control point or payload. Also coordinate with teammates who can use their own Ultimates.

Mercy

• Don't be shy with your Ultimate, as it charges very quickly. Don't be afraid to resurrect just one or two dead allies, especially if they're tanks or other supports,

• Use your damage boost on someone using their Ultimate, like Soldier 76 or Roadhog, to devastate the enemy.

• Mercy's Guardian Angel is one of the best mobility skills in the game. Dart between allies not just to heal them, but to avoid the enemy line of fire and make yourself unpredictable.

Pharah

• Use Concussive Blast on the enemy team near ledges and pits to get environmental kills.

• Consider using your Ultimate from ground level - you can still do lots of damage and you'll be less exposed.

• Peek briefly out of cover and launch missiles to destroy turrets and kill Bastions without fear of getting killed.
