Borderlands 2 New Captain Scarlett and Her Pirates Booty DLC Trailer (Watch Here)

A creepy skull-and-crossbones marks the old wooden chest. The image is an authentic representation of a pirate's life. The shipborne thieves are cold and heartless and Captain Scarlett seems to be the most cutthroat of them all, according to the launch trailer for Borderlands 2's new Captain Scarlett and Her Pirates Booty DLC.

The trailer was released to celebrate the launch of the new DLC and shows off some grimy scurvy pirates, treasure chest and a metal hook. The Scarlett DLC sends players on a journey to Pirate Bay in search of hidden riches and blood money.

The expansion also adds new areas and enemies such as Sand Pirates and Anchormen. It also features new quests, unique weapons and a whole lot of pirate booty.  Plus the pack brings the aforementioned Captain Scarlett, who is the most feared and courageous pirate queen.

The DLC will set gamers back $9.99 or it can be purchased with the Season pass that will net gamers all four planned DLC packs for $29.99. If the planned DLC content is anything like the downloadable packs for the original game, $30 bucks will be money well spent.

Game website Kotaku says in their review of the new DLC "introduces funny new characters, some really great new weapons, more challenges, a lot of new quests and an amazing vehicle. Heck, even some of the loot chests sport new designs. It's all very new and exciting."

Borderlands 2 is a space western first-person role-playing shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and was released for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

The game takes places five years after the original game and introduces players to four new Vault hunters as the search Pandora for hidden Vaults.

The game has received positive review and aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic have the PlayStation 3 version rated with a 90.69 percent and 91/100. The Xbox 360 version received a 89.90 percent and 89/100 respectively.
