Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC Release Date: New Screenshot Reveal A Female Turian (See Her Here)

Commander Shepard always has time to help out a friend. Even if that friend is the queen of the seediest place in the galaxy Omega. The newest downloadable content for Bioware's Mass Effect 3 is less than three weeks away and the developer has decided to tease gamers with the first screenshots of the new expansion.

Here is the DLC official synopsis from Bioware:

"Omega has been seized by one of Cerberus' most accomplished and brilliant agents, General Oleg Petrovsky...and Aria T'Loak is plotting her revenge. To reclaim her domain, she must team up with Commander Shepard.

Join Omega's infamous leader in her fight to retake the notorious black market station. Navigate Omega's seedy underbelly as Aria joins your squad and you witness her legendary biotic powers and unrelenting ruthlessness first-hand. Help Nyreen Kandros, the valiant turian leader of the Talon mercenary group, as she fights to free the enslaved people of Omega. Face down fearsome new enemies, including the Cerberus-manipulated Reaper, the Adjutant.

Shape Omega's future through four death-defying missions, and strike a devastating blow to the Illusive Man's plans."

The screenshot also reveal the first female Turian ever seen in a Mass Effect video game. Turians are known for their militaristic nature and disciplined culture. So we know she is likely be a soldier by nature. According to the Mass Effect Wiki, "Turians typically stand over six feet tall, have two long, proportionately thick fingers and an opposable thumb on each hand, each tipped with talons, and a set of mandibles around their mouths.Turian features are avian, making them resemble humanoid birds or raptors. Males and females do not differ greatly in physical appearance, but female Turians lack the crest of horns found in the males of the race."

The new DLC will cost $14.99 on PC and the PlayStation 3 and 1200 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live. Omega will be is one of the largest downloadable content files released for the Mass Effect game series. It is also the most expensive single-player content released in the franchise's history. Mass Effect PlayStation 3 Fans in Europe will have to wait one extra day as the DLC will release on Nov. 28.

This is the third single-player DLC for the game. The first two were From Ashes and Leviathan. From Ashes returned player to Eden Prime where the battle against Cerberus ground troops; after discovering a Prothean stasis pod. The main draw of this DLC was finding the new squad member Javik, a Prothean soldier.

Leviathan was released in August and added important information to the lore of the Mass Effect universe. The DLC played similar to Mass Effect 2's Shadow Broker DLC.
