‘Pokemon Go’ Buddy System Latest News & Update: Racking Up Candies May Take A Lot Of Kilometers to Achieve

The much awaited “Buddy System” for “Pokemon Go” is finally out and players will now be focusing on racking in the candies. Depending on the character that is to be evolved, the amount of candies needed will vary.

To cut it short, the amount of “Pokemon Go” candies that one can amass will depend on the distance they travel. That said, the process is no different from how players hatch eggs.

To amass the candies on “Pokemon Go” players need to make sure that the game is running, something similar to hatching eggs. The number of candies garnered will require some computations, something which Forbes took into perspective.

One candy per kilometer limitation

Though they may seem similar, the candy returns are not looking so hot on “Pokemon Go”. As speculated by some, 1 kilometer may equal 1 candy but only covers some of the critters in the game. The frequency of collected candy differs with other characters.

For gamers, the more powerful “Pokemon Go” characters will likely return candy scarcely. Seeing that it is a process, this hints that gamers have a long way to go before racking up candies for the stronger and rare Pokemon they may have. Sticking to the 1 kilometer per candy rule for “Pokemon Go”, this hints that players who plan to evolve “Dragonite” will need to travel approximately 625 kilometers to fill up the 125 candy requirement at 5 KM.

One can just imagine how long that would take plus the fact that the “Pokemon GO” buddy system will require only one Pokemon per travel, CNet reported. Understandably, the feature is a welcome addition given how hard it is to collect candy. The problem is that while the game is all about traveling, the process of doing so becomes a bit odd.

Either way, no one said that the new features would make “Pokemon Go” easy to play. It still requires people to do a lot of walking in all. So for the ones who want to rack it up, you may want to start walking and rack up those kilometers with the corresponding candies.
