‘Gotham’ Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers, News & Update: Penguin Fights Against Fish; Ivy Pepper Returns As A Different Woman [PREVIEW]

"Gotham" Season 3 just premiered and the highlight of this new season is the comeback of Jada Pinkett-Smith's Fish Mooney. With Fish back from the dead and wanting to claim the city of Gotham for herself, Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) will be in for some big trouble.  Penguin will also need strong allies by his side now that Fish is on the loose.

In an interview with Variety, Taylor revealed that his character's relationship with his current ally, Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) will deepen since he no longer has a family to turn to. In relation to this, executive producer John Stephens explained to TV Insider that Nygma and Penguin will really work together as a duo for the first time during the first half of "Gotham" Season 3, since the latter will use the former to fulfill his quest for reclaiming the city.

Meanwhile, Fox has already revealed the synopsis for "Gotham" Season 3's second episode, which is titled "Mad City: Burn the Witch." In this particular episode, Penguin will come to be known in the city after he slammed the work of the Gotham City Police Department. As for Fish Mooney, the villain will try to find Hugo Strange (BD Wong) all by herself. Protagonist Gordon (Ben McKenzie), on the other hand, will unwillingly work with Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) to locate Fish.

As for the youngsters in the series, fans will get to see a different Ivy Pepper in "Gotham" Season 3's episode 2. The last two seasons of "Gotham" featured Ivy as a young teenager played by Clare Foley. However, this season, she will be reintroduced as an adult, played by 28-year-old Maggie Geha.

While it's surprising how the young Ivy Pepper managed to transform into an adult in just less than a year, fans should note that she had her time in Indian Hill, where an encounter with a monster resulted to her aging. "Gotham" Season 3  premieres on Monday, Sept. 26, 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
