Ubisoft Unofficially Confirms Plans for Far Cry 4

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot all but confirmed plans to make a fourth entry in the Far Cry series in immeadiate future during a company earnings call today.

According to Joystiq, Guillemot said Far Cry 3, which has shipped 4.5 million copies since early December, performed "way better than expected," and that "Fans will certainly not have to wait four more years for the next Far Cry."

As the comment implies, Far Cry 3 came a full four years after the critically polarizing Far Cry 2. While the CEO's statement doesn't technically reveal anything about the new game, or even that it's even in development. Still, given those numbers and that statement, Ubisoft will likely move to foster the series as one of the publisher's premiere franchises.
