Infamous: Second Son Reveal Showed Gameplay Footage, Says Sucker Punch

Ready to have your mind blown? Developer Sucker Punch says that the announcement demo for inFamous: Second Son from Wednesday's PS4 unveiling was actual gameplay footage, and not some high glossed cinematic.

After an eager fan praised the demo on Twitter, saying he was eager to see actual gameplay. Sucker Punch replied; "what did you think most of that was... we just used different camera to make it more cinematic."

Game developers often take liberties with the pre-release materials the show to the media and the public. Unveilings, trailers, and screenshots, are generated specifically for media consumption. Sometimes that just means running the game on a high-end PC and setting up interesting camera angles, other times a whole demo or sequence is crafted specifically for a reveal. This is why you typically see a lot of cinematics and cut scenes at reveals, which are typically more refined than actual gameplay.

Sucker Punch has yet to reveal much more about inFamous: Second Son, but you can go here to see what we know so far. If this claim is true, though, Sucker Punch just turned the game's presentation on its ear and made their demo a lot more interesting.
