'Rick and Morty' Season 3 Spoilers, News And Update: Fan Favorite to Return This Season, Who Can It Be?

"Rick and Morty" has always been a fun show that relied heavily on inside jokes and cameos from "interdimensional television actors," and it seems that the Adult Swim show is looking to continue on the tradition. "Rick and Morty" season 3 is expected to return before the year ends and it looks like a fan favorite is returning to the show.

According to Den of Geek, "Rick and Morty" season 3 producers Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon were slightly hesitant to reuse old cameos mostly because of Harmon's work with "Community" and the backlash it received for reusing inside jokes and calling back to previous episodes. This alienated new viewers to get hooked on the show.

Harmon admitted that one must "have to have a relationship with a show in order to decode it," and feels the same way about "Rick and Morty" season 3. The two did use the same formula back in season 2, but instead of reusing old jokes, they opted to create new gags instead.

The question now is, will a fan favorite return to "Rick and Morty" season 3? The answer seems to point to yes. In fact, the producers say that they've had Mr. Meeseeks in a lot of episodes this upcoming season but had to cut him out because it didn't really serve a higher purpose on the show. The producers admitted that they would bring him back only if he can "open up a mythology."

While waiting for "Rick and Morty" season 3 to head back to Adult Swim, fans can check out part two of "Rick and Morty: Looks Who’s Purging Now" recreated in Fallout 4. VG24/7 reports that the episode is made with several "Fallout 4" mods.

During the first episode of "Rick and Morty: Looks Who’s Purging Now," fans saw the due stop by a planet to get some windshield fluid for their spaceship. The planet they visited was occupied by peace-loving cat-people, but the twist here is that they have an annual purge in which they try to kill each other to downplay their anger management issues.

The worst part is that Rick and Morty arrive on the eve of the annual purge, putting them right in the middle of danger. Check out "Rick and Morty: Looks Who’s Purging Now" on Adult Swim before "Rick and Morty" season 3 hits the network before the end of the year.
