According to the Mega Millions official website, there was no one who matched all five white balls and the gold ball. The jackpot prize would have been at $25 million. There was also one who matched all five white balls for a million-dollar cash prize, which would have quadrupled due to the Megaplier bonus. The winner hails from Connecticut.

Additionally, there were fifteen who won the next prize tier for the $5000 prize. They all matched four white balls and the gold Mega ball. One of them opted for the Megaplier bonus and will be receiving $20,000.

How to Play Mega Millions

To play Mega Millions, the player must choose six numbers, five for the white balls and 1 for the gold ball. The white balls range from 1 to 75, while the gold one is limited to only 15. Each ticket costs a dollar, with an additional buck for the Megaplier bonus.

The total prize then corresponds to the number of matched digits, as well as the Megaplier bonus. Aside from the jackpot and two non-jackpot tiers mentioned above, there are six more prize tiers in Mega Millions.

There is a $500 prize to everyone who matches four white balls. $50 is then given to those who match three white balls and the gold Mega ball. There is a $5 prize for those who match either three white balls or two white balls and the gold ball. $2 is given to those who match a white ball and the gold ball, while a buck is given to those who match only the gold ball.

Do note that all prizes, except the jackpot prize, could be multiplied by the assigned Megaplier value. Last drawing, it was set to 4. Mega Millions is playable in 44 US States. There are two weekly drawings, every Tuesdays and Fridays at 11PM ET.
