'Nintendo Switch' Latest News & Update: Details of Screen Size and Resolution

The newest console of Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch, formerly known as the NX had its trailer released last week. The gamers were hyped about the info of the new console and although the main features and controls of gadget were shown on the trailer, there is still more to it than meets the eye.

The Switch was just renamed few days ago and has a trailer that aims to introduce the basics of the device but Eurogamer has discovered more features of the device that others might know about or not, other than what the trailer for the device has shown.

Nintendo is still keeping some the devices features and capabilities under wraps, but Eurogamer has learned some of them. The first is the console's screen which is 6.2 inches wide, has a quality of 720p and the feature which is uniquely Nintendo Switch is the capacitive multi-touch screen according to Dual Shockers.

The technology that is usually used for smartphones have been implemented on the said device, that is why, unlike 3DS and Wii U, it is capable of a multi-finger gestures. This feature has not been presented in the trailer. Eurogamer inferred that Nintendo did not show this particular feature in the trailer in order not to confuse their customers if the device is just another product for DS or Wii U, which is known for having a tablet-like stylus controls. It is to show that this is a new product, not a continuation of the former two.

The uses of the controls have been already shown in the trailer. But there are still questions surfacing regarding the touch screen feature, like how will it work, and while it is connected to the TV with the JoyCon controllers and all. It was also discovered that in the right-hand JoyCon, there is a short-range IR sensor. The sensor can be used to copy the touchscreen feature, while the device is pointed at the TV.
