‘Grimm’ Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Cancellation Rumors Finally Confirmed; Netflix to Pick Up the Show? Online Petitions Launched

It was announced that NBC will air the sixth and final season of the fantasy series, "Grimm," next year. This means that fans will see the last of Nick and the gang in "Grimm" Season 6. This was definitely sad news for avid followers of the series who can't accept that the story has to end. For that, some fans launched an online petition to make sure NBC doesn't push through with the cancellation of the series.

One Rebekka Hay started a petition hoping to have Netflix pick up the NBC series. According to the petitioner, the series can't just end yet with "Grimm" Season 6. There is just so much story to tell in the series that putting an end to it would be "a wasted opportunity," according to the Change.org petition. At the time of writing, Hay already received more than 11,000 signatures for the petition. Her latest update was from two months ago and she said that Netflix newsletters have yet to mention about picking up the show and continuing it in the online streaming platform.

Another petition launched by Grimmster Family is getting closer to its goal of getting 15,000 signatures in The Petition Site. As of writing, there are already 14,720 people who have signed the petition to save "Grimm" Season 6, hoping that it will get a renewal. "We, the fans from all over the globe, are not ready to say goodbye. We are not ready to give up on the cast who have shared over five years of their lives with us," the petition read in part.

Based on the number of petitions launched, "Grimm" really has a strong fanbase that all supporters were surprised when cancellation after "Grimm" Season 6 was announced. Despite the number of viewers, NBC had confirmed that the upcoming season, premiering on Jan. 6, 2017, will be the last and will consist of 13 episodes. Fans can only hope that Netflix will hear their plea. Otherwise, they'll just have to wait and see Nick (David Giuntoli) facing his ultimate fight against Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz).
