PES 2014 will give Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U miss: Konami

Konami has confirmed in a release that Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (or PES 2014) will be skipping Microsoft's Xbox One, Sony's Playstation 4 and Vita along with Nintendo 3DS.

However, the newest iteration of the popular soccer sim is set for Xbox360, PC, Playstation 3 and Vita sometime later this year.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014's biggest feature is the utilization of the Fox Engine that's also powering Kojima Productions' highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.   Outside of the new engine, six central tenets are being implemented as a way of reworking gameplay for developer PES Productions can better recreate "the excitement and variety of a top-level match."

The biggest change of the six tenets is TrueBall Tech which features detailed "barycentric physics" that allows players to trap or knock on a pass using the analogue stick based on numerous factors from weight shift of the player to the height and speed of the pass. This means that the player's movements will work around those of the ball as opposed to the other way around.

A Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S.) simulates the bodily contact between multiple players seamlessly instead of having pre-set animations.

Heart will have each player employ "mental attributes" added to playing styles and skills meaning if an individual team member is not playing well, other team mates can rally around and work to support him.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 strive for realism hopes to become even more closer through PES ID that alongside visually, makes real-life players recognizable by factors including running and play styles. Konami didn't release the actual players who would be featured. Though Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 featured 50 players that utilized the system, the number will double.

Tactics can be preset to key areas of the field with team mates through Team Play and The Core creates several gameplay enhancements. Those enhancements include "radical" changes to free kicks and penalties.

Creative producer for the game Kei Masuda said that the game is about 70 percent completed and that though it's set for release on current-gen platforms, the engine is scalable for next-gen consoles.

Expect Konami to release more information next week at E3 in Los Angeles.
