IOS Latest News & Updates: A New Bug Has Arrived; Clicking A Link Can Cause Units To Freeze

Contrary to what most Apple users say, the iOS is not totally immune to viruses or other iOS bugs. Every once in a while, someone will find a hole where they can insert these annoying bugs and wreak havoc on your iOS devices. In recent news, a new video link has been found circulating online. This link actually leads to an iOS bug that can cause units to freeze or hard reset just to make it operational again.

Once the link is clicked, it leads to a short video of a guy standing beside a bed with the word "honey" on the screen. After a while, the iOS bug will kick in and you will start to notice your unit slowing down until it completely freezes and you can't do anything with it anymore.

The video from EverthingApplePro on Youtube shows how fast the iOS bug will kick in and how the units affected will no longer be responsive. It is still not clear as to why this happens but for sure, Apple will be releasing a new update to counter the effects of this iOS bug.

The iOS bug kicks in once the video is played and it is not specific to a certain model of an iOS device. Clicking the link and then playing the video will cause any iOS unit to freeze even the much older, iOS 5. For the iOS 10.2 beta 3 though, the link will freeze the unit then after a while it will start to load and eventually shut down.

The effect may be swift for this iOS bug but users should not fret. The effects of the link are limited to the slowing down and the freezing. There has been no observed long term or serious effect that the link can cause. If there was, Apple will certainly be one step forward in terms of developing an update for the ios bug.

According to 9to5Mac, in order to fix the iOS bug on the affected device, all you have to do is complete a hard reboot. You may do this by doing a long press on the home button and the power button for all the iPhones except the new iPhone 7. For the iPhone 7, the power button and the volume button must be used to reboot the device.

iOS users may be immuned to majority of the bugs and viruses on the internet but this does not mean that users can risk it and trust all the links that they see. The Telegraph advises users to always avoid malicious links and other websites to avoid risking their units and even their privacy.
