Avid fans of "Pokemon Go" is looking forward to hear exciting news about a new third party collaboration and the release of Gen 2 Pokemon creatures. Latest news revealed Niantic and Sprint's upcoming joint press announcement about the popular mobile gaming app.

Several reports hinted of the potential release of 100 new Pokemon creatures for "Pokemon Go." Niantic may have kept silent about the speculated Gen 2 Pokemon introduction, however, dataminers have already uncovered hidden game codes that suggest the addition of new characters.

Latest "Pokemon Go" rumors even pointed to a potential release during the week of Dec. 7. Given Niantic's anticipated announcement of new partnerships with famous brands, the gaming company may have decided to bundle its Gen 2 Pokemon release with the said announcements.

Gaming speculations also indicated that the new batch of Pokemon creatures will be deployed to "Pokemon Go" following Niantic's announcement of a special partnership with Starbucks, according to Forbes. Leaked documents revealed an upcoming game update that will designate several U.S. Starbucks outlets as Pokestops. However, it did not include the list of Starbucks stores that will serve as the mobile gaming app's new Pokestops.

The said "Pokemon Go" and Starbucks collaboration is set to go live on Dec. 8, Thursday, as indicated in the leaked documents. Apart from select outlets becoming Pokestops, Starbucks will also release a new "Pokemon" themed Frappuccino drink.

At this time, it is still unclear if the Starbucks collaboration and the speculated Gen 2 Pokemon release will be rolled out for "Pokemon Go." Neither Niantic nor Starbucks have commented on the news.

Meanwhile, the gaming company is set to partner with mobile carrier Sprint for an upcoming joint press announcement. Scheduled on Dec. 7, Wednesday at 8:30 am PT (11:30 am ET), both Niantic and Sprint are expected to unveil "Pokemon Go" related news, according to Android Authority.

"Pokemon Go" was released on July 4 in select countries before Niantic deployed the game to other markets. Learn more about the mobile gaming app in the clip below:
