'Cars 3' Release Date, Characters, New Updates: Cruz Ramirez, Jackson Storm Arrive In Sequel; What To Know About Main Characters [SPOILERS]

"Cars 3" is all set for its 2017 release and fans will get to know more about the different characters in the 3D-animated series. New characters that were introduced in this installment play a significant role in helping Lightning McQueen with his decisions.

In the first "Cars" movie, viewers were introduced to Lightning McQueen, a rookie racecar. Lightning McQueen is portrayed in the beginning as cocky, selfish and sarcastic. His personality improved when he accidentally spent some time in Radiator Springs and realized that there is more to life than being popular. Apart from McQuee, some of the characters in the first movie, including Mater, Sally and Ramone are also in "Cars 3."

The third movie "Cars 3," premiering on June 16, 2017, is more focused on a serious tone. McQueen is going to have a tragic accident that will really bring him down. New characters such as Cruz Ramirez and Jackson Storm are introduced here. As reported earlier, Cruz Ramirez is a yellow racecar that would help McQueen after the accident. On some merchandise artwork, she is shown as having a Porsche-like body with brown eyes. She is a race technician as well as a trainer.

Cruz Ramirez is allegedly a relative or a friend of Sally, McQueen's girlfriend, according to sources. She will help boost McQueen's confidence after he went through depression. The other new character is Jackson Storm. He is shown as a race car with a black and a gray body with blue lining. He has a number 20 indicated on his body and is sponsored by IGNTR. He is the antagonist of the story and it has been speculated that after winning the Florida 500 race, McQueen and Jackson Storm become good friends.
