Watch the Samsung Galaxy S5 Livestream: The Next 'Next Big Thing' is Unveiled

Watch the Livestream of Samsung's Galaxy S5 Reveal Event

Bits of information have been dropped or leaked consistently about Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone over recent weeks as we approach the device's reveal. Now the day is here, with the unveiling set to occur during Samsung's "Unpacked" event at the Mobile World Congress at 2pm EST.

We've seen the phone's first teaser video, and now we should know most of the details there are about the phone, unless Samsung decides to hold back. It's possible they don't give up all the information at once and hold some back for release (hardware specs, if anything, would be my guess), but I expect we'll know the majority of the phone's features after today.

Samsung's official Youtube page will have a live stream of the event, and I'll be sure to post a roundup of the highlights and best features announced when the conference is over.

The Galaxy S3 and S4 have sold dozens of millions of units, launching Samsung's mobile division into a new tier of success alongside a very effective marketing campaign.

Partially aimed at degrading Apple's iPhone, mass marketing (seriously, it seems like ads for the Galaxy line are always everywhere) has made the Galaxy come off as a phone that's more for the 'young, smart and hip' crowd rather than, their ads would tell you, mom and dad or those behind-the-times.

Hopefully we see some innovative, useful features in the Galaxy S5 and not just a mirror of iPhone abilities as the two companies compete in a feature arms race for market share. Check this page as it approaches 2pm for the livestream straight from Barcelona, Spain.

[UPDATE- Livestream is up!]
