‘Star Wars Battlefront 2’ OutsellS ‘Call Of Duty’; Single Player Campaign, Space Battles Coming To ‘SWB2’; ‘COD’ No Pending Updates

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is rumored to beat the "Call of Duty" as the "COD" franchise saw a decline in sales in recent years, while DICE's "Battlefield" and "Battlefront" have seen growth in sales. Furthermore, another "Star Wars" game is also set to launch soon.

Sequel May Sell More Than Original Game

The first "Battlefront" boasted more than 14 million sales after the franchise laid dormant for several years. The game is currently hitting towards a project 15 million in sales with a stronger start initially. It is expected that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" would also be selling staggering amounts with additional elements that fans looked for in the original game.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is expected to feature all eras of Star Wars along with proper space battles as well as a single player campaign, Gamer Headquarters reported. It is also expected that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will bring in rave reviews that will raise the excitement prior to the game's launch. On the contrary, "Call of Duty" is no longer setting any records every year although it is currently still topping charts.

Furthermore, the holiday season is also expected to get more crowded with game releases aside from "Star Wars Battlefront 2." The sequel is currently being backed by "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" which is set to be launched around the same time as the sequel. It is expected that the game will also be a mega hit in the gaming community.

Upcoming Title Is Set To Compete With Platonic Multiplayer

In other news, "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" is expected to compete not only with its fellow holiday releases but with the decade-old namesake as well, Wired reported. The previous "Star Wars: Battlefront II" in 2005 came out as a sequel to a game purely as fan service. The game featured a set of cleverly-tuned systems that borrowed from multiplayer shooters in circa 2005.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" fans note the game as a platonic ideal of a multiplayer "Star Wars" title. Over a decade later, the game is noted as an average multiplayer shooter with similar mechanics and rhythms of"Battlefield" games. It features "Star Wars" as broad and accessible with hyper-detailed devotion of the Wookiepedia reader.
