In Icarus, players can gather for resources, craft for materials and equipment, build shelter, and hunt for food in order to survive.
They will also need to accomplish Prospect Missions, where they will need to explore several biomes in the game in order to accomplish specific tasks.
One of which is the "El Camino: Expedition," a Prospect Mission where they must explore the Forest and Desert biomes in order for them to locate crash debris sites, as well as to dispatch a threat.
Preparations
Much like the rest of the missions in Icarus, players need to prepare the equipment that they will use in the El Camino: Expedition Prospect Mission.
According to eip.gg, they must craft the basic equipment needed such as a bow with its arrows, a knife, an axe, and a spear, all of which are essential for hunting animals.
If they unlocked higher Tiers in the game's tech tree, they can craft a better bow such as a composite bow, as well as arrows, knives, spears, and axes that has metal in it.
They will also need to craft cloth armor for additional defense and protection, parts for their temporary shelter such as wood walls and floors, a wood repair hammer, and a bedroll that they will convert their shelters into spawn points.
Once they have prepared everything, they will now enter aboard the dropship and start the Prospect Mission after dropping in the area within the point B3
Clearing El Camino
Once they land in the drop-off point, they will go to the first crash site in the Forest biome, which according to Techraptor, is in the areas within the points B4 and B5.
While traversing towards the said crash site, they must look out for wild animals that are lurking and have their weapons ready in case that they going to attack them on the spot.
If they killed the said animals, they will get the meat, which they can cook for food, and the leather, which they can use to craft items such as waterskins.
Once they have reached the area, they will survey the area until they found a damaged longbow and 20 flint arrows.
Then, they will proceed towards the second crash site, which is in the are within D7 and D8. Much like the first one, they need to look out for any wild animals that might attack them from the spot.
As they are approaching towards the second crash site, they will build their first temporary shelter within D6.
From there, they will also build a campfire, which they can use to cook their food. Considering that the area has a river, they can also catch fish for food using their bow and arrows or spears.
Once they are rested enough, as well as saving their first spawn point, they will continue to proceed towards the second crash site. They will then survey the whole area once they reached the location until they will find two anti-poison pastes.
Once they finished surveying the second crash site, they will need to enter the Desert biome, and go towards the third and final crash site, which is the area within the point within, C10, D10, C11, and D11.
As they are in the said biome, they will need to build a second temporary shelter, which will also act as their second spawn point.
Once they are well rested enough, they will proceed towards the area, where they will face the Sand Worm, the Boss for this Prospect Mission.
According to PC Invasion, the said creature can attack them with Poison Spit, which can poison them if they are hit, Ground Strike, which can make it rush towards their position, causing them damage, and Burrow, which will make it dug underground, then reemerge to a random place.
In order for them to defeat the Sand Worm, they must shoot its mouth with either their repaired longbow that they have found on the first crash site or their bow to inflict damage, while avoiding its Ground Strike. They must also have their anti-poison paste ready in vase they will be inflicted with poison.
Once they have avoided the said attack, the Sand Worm will be temporarily immobilized, which will give them the opportunity to attack it with a melee weapon. Afterwards, it will attempt to escape after taking significant amount of damage, crashing into a large rocky wall in the process.
Once they have dispatched the creature, they will survey the whole crash site until they found a box filled with 10 Fire Arrows and 5 Health Restoration Pastes. Once they got the items, they will run back to the drop-off point and enter aboard the dropship to complete the Prospect Mission.
