In Icarus, players need to gather resources, craft materials and equipment, build shelters, and hunt for food in order to survive.
Aside from that, they will need to clear several Prospect Missions in order to progress in the multiplayer online survival game. These missions will allow them to travel into different biomes in order to perform a specific task.
One of which is the "Icestorm: Expedition" Prospect Mission, where they need to go into the Forest and Arctic biomes in order to retrieve several components for a Disruptor device, as well as to deploy it in the said biome.
Preparations
Like any other Prospect Missions in Icarus, players need to prepare the tools that they will need to use while taking the Icestorm: Expedition mission.
According to eip.gg, they will need to craft the basic tools for hunting such as a bow with arrows, a knife, and a spear, as well as harvesting tools such as an axe and a pickaxe.
If they unlocked higher Tiers in the game's tech tree, they can craft them with better materials such as metals like Steel.
They will also need to craft pieces for their temporary shelters, as well as a bedroll, which will act as their save point once they have installed it inside the said shelter.
They will also need to make Cloth Armor pieces for additional defense, a wood repair hammer for building purposes, bandages to heal them once they are in Wounded status effect, and waterskins to store water. Finally, they need to have the blueprint for the Crafting Bench unlocked.
Once they have crafted the said tools needed, they will need to hop in the drop ship, and start the Icestorm: Expedition Prospect Mission in order for them to be dropped in the area within the point O11.
Clearing the Icestorm Expedition
Once they are dropped in the said area, according to Techraptor, they need to set up their first temporarily shelter, complete with a bedroll, campfire, and Crafting Table.
Aside from that, they need to collect water for their waterskins as this might be the last chance for them to have an easy access for it.
If you unlocked the blueprints for the Skinning Bench, the Textiles Bench, and the Rain Reservoir, they can also set them up outside their shelter.
These three structures can be useful in the long run, especially the Rain Reservoir, where they can melt ice from a nearby Arctic biome in it in order for them to have an additional water supply.
Once they set up their base, according to PC Invasion, they will need to go southwest towards the area within N12. This is where the first device component is located, which is inside a Supply Crate.
Then, they will traverse through a ravine that is filled with trees, until they will see a ridge off to the side. From there, they will see the said crate and interact it in order to get the first component.
Afterwards, they will head east towards the Arctic biome, then they will go southwest for the second device component, which is in the area within N15.
Before travelling in the said biome, they need to store extra food, as well as Oxites, as they will might have a harder time to replenish in the area.
Also, while traversing towards the said location, they will need to watch out for polar bears that are lurking in several areas, as they are extremely dangerous and can attack them suddenly.
After getting the device component after interacting with the second Supply Crate, they will need to move forward towards the area that has the third device component, which is within M14.
Once they got all of the three device components, they will open their Crafting tab to craft the Acoustic Cavitation Cannon.
Then, they will need to find a cave an area north of M14. They must stay there as a snowstorm is ravaging the location. They will also need to look out for the cave worms inside.
Then, they will need to look for a nearby rock formation, then they will dig it up using the pickaxe and place the device inside. Then, they will interact to it in order to activate it, and wait until it reaches 100%.
They can also build an even sturdier wooden shelter to house the said device.
They can also create a campfire and crawl inside a cramped space to make themselves warm while waiting for it to finish. Once it is done, they will run towards the dropship to complete the Prospect Mission.
