In Icarus, players need to gather resources such as metal ores, Oxites and minerals, craft items such as tools, weapons, materials and equipment, build shelters, and hunt wild animals for food, fur and leather in order to survive.
Aside from these tasks, they will also need to clear Prospect Missions in order to progress in the online survival game. One of which is the "Wet Work: Extermination" Prospect Mission, where they need to travel towards the Riverlands biome to eliminate a predator.
Clearing the Prospect Mission
Before taking the said Prospect Mission, they must first prepare the tools needed in order to defeat the aforementioned predator. They must craft the basic hunting items such as a bow with its arrows and a knife.
If they unlock higher Tiers in the game's tech tree, they can craft said tools with better materials such as metals. If they do not want to use a bow for the said mission, they can also craft rifles along with its ammunition.
They will also need to craft the parts for their temporary shelter such as the walls, floors, a door, and a roof, as well as the bedroll, which they will act as the spawn point.
They will also need to have the blueprints for the Crafting Station, the Furnaces, and the Cooking Station unlocked as these equipment is vital for this Prospect Mission.
Once they have prepared everything, they will jump in to the drop ship and accept the Prospect Mission. Afterwards, they will be dropped to an area in the Forest biome, which is within the point F2.
From there, according to Game Advisor's YouTube video, they need to travel south towards the area within G4, where they will see an animal carcass. They will interact with the said carcass, which will eventually trigger the next steps for the Prospect Mission.
Before continuing, they must first build their temporary shelter, and place the Crafting Bench, the Furnace, and the Cooking Station. They must have extra metal ingots, or make one if they do not have one by smelting ores in the Furnace, in order to create the said station.
Then, they will cook the Animal Bait, which is a crucial item to lure in the predator before killing it on the spot. To do this, they will need to place a piece of Raw Meat and two Animal Fat in the Cooking Station.
If they want to poison the said wild animal, they can craft Poison Paste by using two pieces of Spoiled Meat and a Sulfur Ore and putting them in a Mortar and Pestle, then they will go back to the Cooking Station to prepare the Poisoned Animal Bait, which it only needs the Animal Bait itself and a Poison Paste.
After preparing everything, they will need to find the predator's den, which is at the area within D6. From there, they will set up another temporary shelter, only this time, it will serve as their look-out quarters in order to guard the said den, and lure the wild animal.
They can set the said shelter right beside a rock with a ramp in the front to give themselves a height advantage.
Then, they will place the Animal Bait right outside the den. Then they will wait for the predator to come out and get the said bait. Once the predator comes out of its den, they will be baited. This is when they will attack them with arrows, or bullets if they have a gun.
But they need to be careful, as the said animal will charge towards them. Once this happens, they will run towards their shelter until they are on top of the rock. From there, they will continue their attack against the predator.
Once the wild animal is killed, they will skin it to get the meat, fur, and leather. Then, they will run towards the drop-off point to get in the drop ship to complete the Prospect Mission.
