Days ago, miHoYo announced that the outfits of several characters in Genshin Impact would be tweaked to meet the regulations from the Chinese government. The said changes will make the costumes for Mona, Jean, Amber, and Rosaria even more conservative.
According to Bounding Into Comics, Said changes include a change in Rosaria's fish-net stockings, which has been tweaked into regular solid-colored stockings, covering up Jean's back area, and lengthening the clothing to cover the upper thigh area.
Chinese Genshin Impact players also noticed that the characters would vanish when viewed from any low camera angle instead of turning them translucent or invisible. This change might be prevention from them to do up-skirt shots.

At first, these changes were not a big deal, as they are optional if they are playing the multiplayer online role-playing game outside of China, but several players discovered that these new outfits might stay permanent.
This was after the developers of Genshin Impact revealed that the alternate costumes will be unlocked for players to use and will also be seen in several aspects of the game.
According to a post on the Hoyolab website, the costumes for the non-playable character (NPC) versions of Jean, Amber, Rosaria, and Mona will be adjusted to the censored ones after the game's Version 2.5 Update rolls out. The said costumes will also appear in quests of its previous versions.
Aside from that, the animated cutscenes that include these characters will appear wearing the said tweaked outfits once the Version 2.6 Update is released.
On the other hand, players will also receive the alternate costumes for Mona, Jean, Amber, and Rosaria, which they can get from their in-game mail. If they did not claim them, they would be automatically unlocked when the game's Version 2.5 Update is uploaded and when they have the said characters.
If they have the said characters but do not have the costumes during the Version 2.4 Update, they will be eventually unlocked after the version update. Once they get the outfits, they can switch them by accessing the character's Dressing Room and choosing the Outfit.
This costume change will be permanent in Genshin Impact's Chinese servers and in the game's servers outside China. However, according to Gamer Braves, players of the latter will not receive 1,200 Primogems as an apology gift, which the former players have recently got.
According to Forbes, this drastic change was part of the Chinese government's censorship and regulation measures towards video games, which includes reducing the time of money that players, including those aged 12 and below, need to spend on a game.
Other regulations made by the government also include restricting those that glorify foreign military powers, encouraging superstitions, spotlighting the developer's personal agenda, having fan service, promoting vices like drinking and smoking, and those that make its players defeat gods.
