‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2’ Release Date To Be Announced in Anniversary Stream?

Square Enix might reveal their plans regarding the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, the sequel for the remake version of the seventh main installment in the Final Fantasy series, during their Anniversary Livestream in celebration of the game's 25th anniversary.

The said announcement might confirm several reports that the developers behind the role-playing game series are working on the said sequel, which might continue the adventures of Cloud Strife and his friends within Midgar.

According to Express, Square Enix might mention their plans regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 during the aforementioned livestream, which will commemorate Final Fantasy VII's 25th anniversary since its release on January 31, 1997 in Japan for the Sony PlayStation.

The livestream that will be broadcasted on YouTube at 5:00 A.M. ET will give the players and the fans of both the game and the franchise, not just a possible glimpse of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, but also new information regarding Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a free-to-play battle royale game that Square Enix made for mobile phones.

Also, according to Screen Rant, Tetsuya Nomura, one of the directors for Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Yoshinori Kitase, the game's producer, are said to appear on the livestream, which might increase the chances that they might announce the sequel.

Before the possible announcement regarding the game, several leakers posted the possible year for the Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2's release on social media.

According to Comicbook, the said leaker said in its Youtube video that the game might be released in 2023 alongside Final Fantasy XVI if both of the games are delayed to the said year. It also stated that the games would be PlayStation 5 exclusives.

The reason for the said delay, according to The Nerd Stash, is that the development for Final Fantasy XVI was half a year behind schedule, which caused Square Enix to fail to get the game ready for its supposed 2021 reveal. Also added in the reasons behind the delay is the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The game, the sixteenth installment, was first announced last September of 2020. In July of 2021, Yoshida Naoki, the game producer, revealed that its storyline was almost completed. The voice recording for its Japanese and English versions is final.

If it is released, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, according to Gamerevolution, will bring its players to the Nibelheim flashback at Kalm, where they will see several subversions of the events that happened in Final Fantasy VII Remake. This includes a possible appearance of Zack, Cloud's fellow SOLDIER, who is supposed to be dead during the events before the game.

Final Fantasy XIV, on the other hand, will focus around the fantasy world of Valisthea, where Clive Rosfield, the firstborn child of the Archduke of Rosaria, sets on a quest for revenge against the dark Eikon Ifrit alongside his brother, Joshua, and his foster sister, Jill Warrick.
