BREAKING: Ukraine Encourages Esports Ban Against Russian Teams, Players

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Federov urged all development companies and esports platforms to temporarily, in all sense, block Russian and Belarusian presence on Esports-related events.

In a tweet, Federov appealed in the meantime to ban all Russian and Belarusian accounts, teams, and gamers in all international esports events. He likewise urged for the cancellation of all provisioned esports proceedings hosted within Russia and Belarus.

In an article written by Rakshak Kathuria, it was mentioned that this move has a motive to "proactively stop the disgraceful military aggression" - a mere cry for help amongst the gamers all over the world to join forces in condemning Russia's impaling moves.

The open letter in the same tweet of Federov included a glimmer of what is happening in what he described as "the heart of Europe" - further hoping for sympathies.

Federov stuck on Xbox's and Playstation's official Twitter accounts with the letter, directing the latter to these Esports and Gaming giants; the two tagged companies have yet to reply regarding the matter.

Prior to this initiative, its own Esports Organization Natus Vincere (NAVI) already broke connections with Russian Esports company ESForce, cited in the article of Kathuaria, behind its public denial of the "horror" storming in Ukraine.

German esports organizer and production company ESL had also started reaping what Vladimir Putin has sowed in his decision to invade Ukraine as they barred "organizations with apparent ties to the Russian Government, including individuals or organizations under alleged or confirmed EU sanctions related to the conflict" from partaking to its Pro League Events.

With that being considered, Russian multi-champion Esports club across various competitive games virtus.pro and Telecommunications company Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) owned Gambit Gaming has been prohibited to join the said events - pertaining to ESL's vow to putting initial sets of actions in place.

As though suspended in participating, it has been said that players under those two teams' banner can be allowed to join if its neutrality will be observed - by not being a delegate of their Nation conjoined with complete disconnection with their organizations' sponsorships and even jersey trademarks.

Virtus.pro had previously reacted with its apparent disqualification from MENA Esports organization Gamers Galaxy's Dota 2 Invitational Tournament saying that their co-national and CIS Esports clubs were under a lot of pressure now and urging to not drag politics in what they said diversified esports community.

Virtus.pro added in an article of Andy Chalk in PC Gamer that they will not succumb to the pressure by maintaining the representation they embody following an apparent condition of issuing a public apology regarding the turmoil or abandoning their banner's identity to continue their bid in the currently ongoing Gamers Galaxy Dota 2 Invitational Dubai 2022.

More so, the call of Federov has seemingly affected many prudent organizations as FIFA and EUFA joined the club on banning Russia's national team and its football clubs in involvement in their hosted competitions.

Unlinked with the gaming industry, the United States, United Kingdom, and the European Union have already issued economic sanctions against Putin's country one of which is related with banking premises.
