Dr. Disrespect Might've Settled With Twitch, But He's Not Returning To The Platform

Dr. Disrespect's trouble with Twitch might already be legally over, but it's not changing a lot of things for the time being.

IGN reports that the streaming star hasn't mentioned a desire to return to Twitch after "resolving" the lawsuit with the streaming platform. When fans asked about a potential Twitch comeback, he said "the Doc will not return," alongside a post on Twitter where he says he's "moving on."

But aside from saying he has settled the lawsuit with Twitch, Dr. Disrespect (Guy Beahm in real life) has been mum about the details-never, sharing anything intimate about the case. He was banned from the platform indefinitely back in June 2020, which prompted him to sue the company due to how the ban has financially impacted him (and how it did damage to his reputation), as reported by PCGamer.

Even so, nobody has the faintest idea why Dr. Disrespect's Twitch account was banned, even almost two years on. Only speculations abound to try to explain what really happened.

Last year, one theory that gained steam came from "Call Of Duty" actor Jeff Leach, who voiced the character Ghost. According to Leach, Dr. Disrespect's Twitch ban was ultimately due to money problems, writes GameRant.

The streamer has a major following on the platform, which makes it safe to assume that he was one of the highest-paid creators there. But Leach alleges that when the Doc was renegotiating his contract as a Twitch partner, he was allegedly using a potential business offer from Mixer (the now-defunct streaming platform posed to rival Twitch) as leverage.

Either way, there's no way to confirm whether the "Call Of Duty" actor's claims are accurate. What's for certain is that Dr. Disrespect won't be coming back to Twitch-straight from the horse's mouth, as they say.

What Will Dr. Disrespect Do Now?

As of late, the massively popular streamer (who got his start posting gameplay videos of him playing "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2") exclusively streams on YouTube. As of this writing, he boasts 3.79 million subscribers on the channel and has been playing FromSoftware's "Elden Ring" recently. 

Aside from that, he is also likely busy with the workings of his newly established game development studio called Midnight Society. In a report by PCGamer, it was revealed that he put the studio up with help from a handful of "Halo" and "Call Of Duty" franchise veterans.

Beahm (who previously worked as a game developer himself) mentioned this about his studio's future plans: "I've often dreamed of creating awesome titles that entire communities can get behind from day one. My vision is to make games that defy the one-and-done publishing model, and reward all those fans and influencers who make them a success."

The studio is currently sourcing new talent, but they've also teased their first game using ARGs, writes Dexerto.
