As reported by ESportsInsider, the ALGS is going to be held at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, where a total of 40 teams from five regions will battle it out against each other for a total prize pool of $2 million. This edition of the Apex Legends Global Series will follow last April's ALGS Split 2 Playoffs, which was held in Sweden and broke numerous viewership records from past EA events.

Sponsoring the event will be Lenovo Legion, Herman Miller, and Monster Energy. What's noteworthy here is that Lenovo is also a sponsor of the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League (NHL), whose home court is actually the PNC Arena as well.

Tickets are already on sale for the tournament, as announced by the official Apex Legends ESports Twitter profile. Tickets come in single-day and 4-day denominations, starting at $15 for a one-day, General Admission ticket. A 4-day ticket is $35, but Premium General Admission versions are also available at $25 (for 1-day tickets) and $50 (for 4-day) tickets:

Anybody who wants to go must remember, as per a FAQ on EA.com, that seating will not be assigned in General Admission or Premium GA - both of which are preferred view sections. So if you want to get good seats, you need to be at the arena early. The PNC Arena is located at 1400 Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh.

Apex Legends Global Series commissioner John Nelson, in a statement to The Loadout, has this to say about the event:

"The ALGS team is incredibly excited about welcoming our fans to PNC Arena for the ALGS Championship. We've waited for this moment for more than two years, to come together with our Apex community to experience the energy and excitement of in-person competition featuring the to-ranked Apex teams."

Which Teams To Watch At The Apex Legends Global Series This Year?

With a total competition pool of 40 teams from all over the world, it ca be tough to know which teams to watch as the favorites and which ones can be the dark horses of the competition. But when talking about the stronger ones, there are very clear frontrunners, based on how the first ALGS played out (via Liquipedia).

Team Empire, the top team in the EMEA region, will be among the ones to watch. There's also OpTic Gaming from the North America Region, Team Singularity from the South America region, Team Unite from APAC-North, and all four leaders from the APAC South: Reignite, DreamFire, Sutoraiku, and Team Burger.

Either way, all of these ESports teams will be competing for a pretty hefty prize pool. The first prize winner will be getting $500,000; 2nd placers will get $300,000, and 3rd placers will still get $200,000. There's also an Apex Predator prize worth $3,000, which will be awarded to the player who gets the most kills during the Finals, according to EA. But in the event that multiple players will be tied for the most kills, the prize will be divided among them equally.

Which team will you be rooting for?
