New Arc A750 Benchmark Shows It Matching The RTX 3060 In Almost 50 Games

Look: Arc A750 Shown Trading Blows With An RTX 3060

A new benchmark video for the Arc A750 desktop GPU has been released by Intel, and it shows just what kind of gaming performance people can expect from their mid-range offering.

As reported by Tom's Hardware, the nearly 50-game benchmark sees the A750 trade blows with NVIDIA's RTX 3060. This means that even if the RTX 40 series and AMD's RX 7000 series are already on the horizon, the Alchemist desktop GPU line is built to contend only with the current generation of graphics cards. Here is the benchmark video from Intel, if you'd like to check it out:

Intel's Tom Petersen and Ryan Shrout presented the benchmark, where they claimed that the Arc A750 can deliver a 3% edge over the 3060 on average in 1080p gaming. Aside from that, they also claimed that the A750 is on average 5% faster in 1440p. This isn't much of a difference that you'd notice in gameplay, but maybe other factors (i.e. price, power consumption) will make the Arc A750 a more compelling buy than a 3060 or a competing RX 6600 from AMD.

The entire 43-game benchmark featured a few popular titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Call Of Duty Warzone, and Fortnite, to name a few - all of them running on DirectX 12. Petersen said that the Arc A750's "sweet spot" was 1080p at ultra settings, with frame rates constantly above 50 FPS. But while the benchmark was more or less a 50-50 split with the RTX 3060, Intel did promise that driver performance is still expected to be better.

Next up, they showed the results for 1440p high settings, and the performance was largely the same for the A750. Intel claims an average of over 50 FPS at these settings, where once again the Intel GPU trade blows with the competing NVIDIA card - but it did perform marginally better than the 3060 at QHD resolution.

To cap things off, Intel showed the performance numbers using the Vulkan API. Again, the Arc A750 is on the same level as the 3060 in both 1080p ultra and 1440p high settings. Though when it comes to older APIs like DX11, Team Blue is honest about the Alchemist GPU line's struggles.

Isn't The Arc Desktop GPU Line In Trouble?

For those that closely follow the PC gaming space, you're going to know that Team Blue's discrete GPU line is in major trouble. So them releasing a new benchmark for the A750 is a little out of the blue.

By "major trouble," we mean that there are rumors going as far as to say that the entire Alchemist line's release may be canceled. According to ArsTechnica, Intel is experiencing problems on multiple fronts: logistics, driver issues, and board partners simply quitting due to perceived quality problems. Despite this, Team Blue maintains that the cards are due to release later this year.

Only time will tell for now.
