LOOK: Intel's Arc A750 Benchmark Shows Death Stranding At 1440p, 80-100 FPS

New Intel Arc A750 Benchmark Showcases VRR, HDR On Death Stranding

A new Intel Arc A750 benchmark has popped up straight from Team Blue, and it shows their mid-range desktop GPU running Death Stranding rather beautifully.

In the benchmark, the Arc A750 (which Intel claims could beat NVIDIA's RTX 3060) runs the triple-A blockbuster from Hideo Kojima in 1440p, at 80-100 FPS. This is impressive performance in its own right, but VideoCardz.com says it's far from the most interesting thing about this benchmark. Here is the video from Intel if you want to check it out:

As per the original report, the best thing about Intel's Arc A750 benchmark above is the close discussion about Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). For the uninitiated, VRR is explained simply as a technology that allows a graphics card's render rate and a monitor's refresh rate (measured in Hertz or Hz) to be perfectly in sync. In games, this technology allows the game to run with as few stutters or tearing as possible.

In the benchmark video, Intel's Ryan Shrout showcases Death Stranding running on the so-called Default VRR mode. He shows that Arc GPUs (or at least the A750 for this benchmark) will actually show their render rate on the top left of the screen alongside the frame rate and graphics API. And on the top right, you're going to see the monitor's refresh rate, which clearly goes back and forth to match the render rate of the A750 in real time.

Intel says that as of the moment, they are validating around 100 monitors equipped with VRR support so there won't be any problems for gamers on day one. They also confirmed that this feature should basically work with any display that has VRR, but maybe you could expect something like "Intel Arc VRR Ready" on a display next time around.

Next up on the discussion is HDR (High Dynamic Range), which this Intel Arc A750 benchmark video confirms will be supported by team blue's desktop GPUs on day one. HDR basically means that the colors on your screen will become more vibrant and lifelike, and won't look washed out.

Is This New Intel Arc A750 Benchmark A Sign Of Good Things To Come?

What one might notice in Team Blue's demo video is the weird absence of a look in the game's graphics settings. A normal benchmark would've showed this off, but Intel went on and just showed the game running between 80-100 FPS at 1440p VRR. The game could be running on the lowest settings for all we know, but that's a discussion for another time.

One thing is for certain, however: the Arc A750 is already far better than the first outing for these Alchemist desktop GPUs. You might remember that the first one to ever launch was the entry-level Arc A380, whose performance really disappointed reviewers as it can barely hold a candle to an RX 6400 or a GTX 1650.

It's still early to assume anything as the Arc A750 is still not out to market. Things can still change, so gamers will have to wait.
