Developer AutoAttack Games deployed a new patch for Legion TD 2 just in time before the next season begins next week. Patch v11.00 introduced a lot of new things, chief among them are four new Masterminds that make the game even more interesting.

New Masterminds

For those who do not know, Masterminds in Legion TD 2 are special builders that enable players to combine six fighters from different legions. Furthermore, they provide different bonuses depending on which Mastermind the player decides to choose. That said, Patch v11.00 has introduced several new Masterminds that players can select whenever they start a new game.

The "Champion" is a new Mastermind that grants buffs that increase a fighter's attack speed and damage reduction by 8%. To ensure that things won't snowball in the player's favor, this effect can only happen once.

The "Kingsguard" makes things interesting because if this Mastermind is chosen, the game will start with the King already having received two of each upgrade. The King, in this context, refers to the base objective that players must eliminate in order to win.

Players who like to lock their favorite fighters in will really love this next one. Patch v11.00 introduces the new Mastermind, "Double Lock-in," as well. This works similarly to the original Lock-in Mastermind, albeit players get to secure two fighters instead of one.

The last new Mastermind of the bunch is called "Megamind." This is more for the adventurous types because this picks another random Mastermind that players have to use throughout a match. Those who have a hard time picking one for themselves might want to try this out.

Balancing Changes

Patch v11.00 was released early so that the company can test the waters before the new season of competitive play begins next week. One of the most notable changes is that workers now scale by 12% per wave starting on Wave 11. For example, players who train a worker on Wave 13 will get more value out of them because they are now capable of bringing in more Mythium. In this case, the said worker can provide 1.36 Mythium every 10 seconds.

This change was made as a way to buff mid and late-game workers without negatively impacting the endgame economy.

Here are the other noteworthy adjustments implemented in this update:

CLASSIC BONUS INCOME

  • Reduced bonus income

  • Bonus income no longer influences power score

  • High-rated ranked players who are low-rated in classic are now considered stronger by the matchmaker

TAB SCOREBOARD

  • Now displays enemy Fighter Value when viewing the enemy team (Screenshot)

  • During the build phase, you'll see each player's Fighter Value from the previous wave

  • During the battle phase, you'll see each player's current Fighter Value

KING UPGRADES

  • You can now research king upgrades a split second after the wave starts (before mercenaries warp) to squeeze them in at the last possible moment.

MASTERMINDS

  • Fiesta

    • Gold gain reduced to 13-48 due to very high pick rate

LEGION SPELLS

  • Creditor

    • Maximum spare gold increased to 180

    • Maximum gold gained per wave increased to 90

  • Overwork

    • Mythium rate on Wave 12 is reduced by 35% due to very high pick rate

  • Sky Queen

    • Attack Speed reduced to 1.43

    • Mana synergy is increased by 40%

The next competitive season for Legion TD 2 is expected to go live on Tuesday, January 9, at 11 a.m. EST.
