Amazon Game Studios is set to open New World's PTR very soon. In this round, players will be able to test a much-improved group finder that will allow them to find random people to play with from across all worlds.
PTR Opens Soon
The PTR (short for Public Test Realm) is an environment that would enable AGS to try out new features before releasing them to the live servers via an official update. That said, the upcoming PTR will bring the Cross-world Group Finder up for testing. This feature allows players to team up with random people from any world within a region in just one click.
To do this, players must go to the newly renamed "Activities" tab in the navigation bar (formerly known as "Modes"), and then find the Expeditions or Mutated Expeditions they want to conquer.
From there, players must click the "Random" button in the Activities UI to queue for any Expedition, so long as they have the necessary gear score and loadouts. Alternatively, players can tick some checkboxes if they opt to join only specific Expeditions.
After players have entered the instanced dungeon for about 10 minutes, players must leave the queue from the Group Finder interface to prevent them from incurring the "Deserter" penalty. This can be done by clicking on the "Abandon" button in the said UI.
The Cross-world Group Finder will be available today, January 16. Additionally, players can hop on the PTR on January 19 at 7 p.m. EST for a chance to join the New World development and community teams as they try and conquer the various Expeditions in the game.

How to Join the PTR
Players who are interested in joining New World's public test realm must download a separate client through the PTR app. Once installed, players can select the special worlds that are available within supported regions. Because of the influx of people who will try the new features out for themselves, players should expect long queues, especially on January 19.
Although players cannot import their characters from the live game to the PTR, Amazon Game Studios will provide players with certain accommodations to help them get right into the action, such as instant levels and special gear.
Players who will join the PTR are encouraged to test the new features to their heart's content and give feedback. This is to help the company address any issues so that the feature/s will be implemented to the live servers free of bugs.
