With a release date of June, this eagerly awaited expansion will bring a classic Elder Scrolls feature, spell crafting, back into the limelight.

Scribing System and Release Details
The heart of Gold Road lies in its innovative Scribing system, allowing players to "collect and customize" unique skills called Grimoires across ESO's vast open-world zones. Zenimax Online Studios describes it as a "fictional precursor to what could become spell crafting 1000 years in the future." The expansion is scheduled for a staggered release, hitting PC and Mac on June 3, followed by a console launch on June 18.
Gold Road introduces a new area in Cyrodiil's West Weald, featuring Skingrad as its capital. The region includes Gold Road, Valenwood Annexation, and Colovian Highlands, accessible from various in-game locations.
Customizable Skills and Visual Style
Excitement builds as players discover that each skill comes with a "primary, secondary, and tertiary effect," offering a level of customization previously unseen. With socketable Scripts, players can alter and enhance these effects, potentially revolutionizing character builds across different classes. Additionally, the expansion caters to fashion-conscious players, featuring 22 collectible styles that can be applied to Grimoires, echoing the nostalgia of spell crafting from Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion.
Players engage in West Weald's political landscape with the Bosmer faction "Recollection," assisting the newly-introduced Daedric Prince Ithelia. This expansion contributes significant lore about the Daedric Pantheon. Completing both expansions' main stories unlocks quests resolving their combined narratives.
