A massive update just dropped for ICARUS that brought the Apicultural System to the game. This new system will transform players into beekeepers, utilizing Worker Bees and Queen Bees to produce a new precious resource.

The Wild Bees Have Arrived

When players explore the world of ICARUS, they will occasionally encounter Wild Bees Nests. They can be discovered in the open field or inside the various caves of the game.

When players get close to these nests, a swarm of angry bees will start attacking them. Players must exercise caution as these bees not only sting for direct damage, but also inflict a stacking debuff called "Bee Swarm." This nasty debuff slows players' movement and melee attack speed. What's worse is that it can stack up to five times!

Fortunately, players can do something about bees by whacking them with a melee weapon. Once they kill the aggressive bees, players can then destroy the Wild Bees Nests to gain some awesome rewards, including honeycombs, worker bees, and even the elusive queen bees!

Get Them to Work

Beehives can be constructed by collecting 10 honeycombs, 30 pieces of refined wood, and 25 copper nails. Aside from producing honeycomb, Beehives provide a buff that increases the yield of nearby crop plots.

At Tier 3, players can construct the Beehive Breeding Center. Remember the Queen Bees? Players can utilize Queen Bees by putting them inside the Beehive Breeding Center. Doing so will generate Worker Bees that can be tasked to produce more honeycomb.

As players deploy more Beehives, they must start expanding their storage space to store new honeycombs. Luckily, the ICARUS development team added a couple of Beehive expansions in the Tech Tree; one available at Tier 3 and another at Tier 4.

Honeycomb is not only used for constructing Beehives, but it can also be turned into Honey, which is a new resource in ICARUS that can be used for a variety of things, including medicine, candles, cured leather, and food.
