The once-overpowered Omnic monk, Zenyatta, has finally been nerfed in the most recent update for Overwatch 2.

Not Surprising

Ever since the massive Season 9 patch dropped for Overwatch 2, Zenyatta has been a mainstay in Ranked Play due to his improved survivability and good damage output thanks to Orb of Discord. To make him a bit easier to defeat, Blizzard reduced his base health from 100 down to just 75.

Zenyatta's Snap Kick has been nerfed as well. Its knockback distance has decreased considerably by 25%. This is to address the issue where Zenyatta was able to keep enemy melee heroes from getting too close.

New Favorites?

Now that Overwatch 2's resident Omnic monk has been dealt with, some likely new favorites have emerged as a result of the changes made in the recent patch.

It looks like Zarya is back to contender status with the buffs to her Particle Cannon. Now, the primary fire's minimum and maximum damage has increased to 95 and 190, respectively.

Junkrat is probably going to have an increased pick rate due to the amazing changes to his Concussion Mine. This damaging gadget has its cooldown reduced by one second, which is good as it allows Junkrat to use Concussion Mine sooner. Besides that, the mine's maximum damage has increased from 110 to 120. Its minimum damage has been raised as well, from 20 to 55.

To entice Overwatch 2 players to choose tank heroes other than Mauga, Blizzard has boosted Roadhog's Take a Breather. Every time Roadhog uses his healing apparatus, he now takes 50% less damage as opposed to just 40% previously.
