Smolder Commands Respect in League of Legends Solo Queue Picks

The Stats Speak Volumes

League stats aggregator U.GG reveals an impressive performance by Smolder, particularly in Platinum rank and higher. With a staggering 21.6 percent pick rate and an imposing 38.8 percent ban rate across over 427,000 games on Patch 14.4, Smolder has undoubtedly caught the attention of players worldwide.

Late-Game Menace

Despite a seemingly modest 49 percent win rate in the same ranked distribution, Smolder's true strength lies in his ability to scale rapidly during the late game. His passive, Dragon Practice, allows him to accumulate stacks and become a formidable force. Players adept at proper wave management and efficient farming can amass the necessary 225 stacks by the 19 to 20-minute mark, unleashing Smolder's devastating potential.

However, Smolder's dominance in the bottom lane as a carry has sparked discussions within the League community. While his prowess is evident in higher-tier solo queue, concerns arise regarding the impact on lower-ranked players who may struggle to reach Smolder's power spikes through efficient farming.

As Patch 14.5 approaches, players anticipate changes to Smolder, though the extent remains unknown.
